What’s the difference between zinc oxide and zinc ricinoleate in deodorant?
Both are zinc-based ingredients used in natural deodorants, but they work a bit differently. Zinc oxide helps control odor by creating an environment that’s less friendly to odor-causing bacteria while also soothing and protecting sensitive skin. Because of its natural color, it goes on white. Zinc ricinoleate focuses specifically on odor control by binding to and trapping odor molecules rather than killing bacteria, and it goes on clear.
